SPOUSAL MAINTENANCE
In certain circumstances, either you or your former partner may be eligible for spousal maintenance. This is where one party provides financial support to the other party who is in financial need to assist meet their reasonable living expenses on either a short-term or long-term basis.
Spousal maintenance may be justified in circumstances where one party is in real financial need and is unable to pay for their reasonable living expenses and where the other party has the financial capacity to meet the shortfall.
